    Basically, I want it so when you pull a switch a gate opens.

    BUT. You can only pull the switch if your sitting down on a certain chair,

    What'd you need to do?

    Furni state is changed (switch)
    Toggle furni state (gate)
    Condition Triggering user is on furni (select the chair)

    What they've said, but using toggle will mean that if it's already open, it'll close. Unless you have something else which closes the gate. If not, you can use 'match furni to state' and select it when it's open.
