Default RIM introduce new BBM/Blackberry MUSIC...

Blackberry's are soon to have a music solution similar to Last.fm.

It's a service in which you can share, discover and play your music and your friends music.

I think it sounds fantastic! I couldn't say any other manufacturer has a credible solution to this (that is/will be as famous). You can share your own music, list upto 50 songs and have a social media extravaganza!

I think they've really cottoned on to the media side of their business (with the playbook for instance) and I think with options like saving to play offline they're going to get a lot more of the 16-24 market sticking/going back to them just for their BBM and Music.

I wasn't aware of this, wonder if it will make any difference with regards to the decline the company has been experiencing.

    very much doubt it.
they're lucky that so many naive users will stick with them.

True, just the other day I heard several girls talking about how one of them got a new BlackBerry. People only buy them to fit into the crowd who have them. I had to stop myself from going upto the girl and pointing out that she could of gotten a Android phone, with a larger and multitouch screen, full hardware keyboard, with 4x the power of her blackberry, 20x the apps, 1000000x the better browser and a user interface that isn't totally blinding for the exact same monthly price

I totally agree but to the novice user it fits the bill.
My brother has the new curve 9360 (and luckily it's on my account so he get's it greatly reduced) and I checked the specs, test-ran it for him etc and in all fairness it's a good well rounded device. Browser is nice, the general UI has nicer gfx and seems smoother. battery life is okay for a full day.

They do the job but thats it - they don't excel. Blackberry are lucky most of their following now are the 16-24 market and older businessperson's whom feel they can't move/aren't aware of a better OS to work with.

This music service will be good, it'll be nice for BB users but it's not going to attract many. it's like a deathly lastfm.

Without applications or competitive hardware they wont succeed though. I think they're either going to smarten up fast, or just die off like Palm.
