Default Iran worried U.S. might be building 8,500th nuclear weapon

"Our intelligence estimates indicate that, if it is allowed to progress with its aggressive nuclear program, the United States may soon possess its 8,500th atomic weapon capable of reaching Iran," said Iranian foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi, adding that Americans have the fuel, the facilities, and "everything they need" to manufacture even more weapons-grade fissile material. "Obviously, the prospect of this happening is very distressing to Iran and all countries like Iran. After all, the United States is a volatile nation that's proven it needs little provocation to attack anyone anywhere in the world whom it perceives to be a threat." Iranian intelligence experts also warned of the very real, and very frightening, possibility of the U.S. providing weapons and resources to a rogue third-party state such as Israel.
As the war drum beats in the west over Iran, just a bit of perspective here is perhaps needed.

In all fairness, the US either has to let Iran build thousands of Nukes or not let them build any at all. Long story short no one wants another cold war so America (And many other countries) will choose the later to be forced upon Iran.

It's actually simple game theory, it's in Iran's best interest that if they have significantly fewer nukes than the US and tensions rise then it makes sense for them to launch a preemptive attack because the US could destroy Iran under choice, this makes Iran unpredictable in launching attacks. On the other hand if Iran has thousands of Nukes then both nations are under equal threat of destruction meaning that launching a nuke will necessitate a retaliation which means total annihilation of both countries.. neither country wants to initiate as it's a bullet shot at their own head. So the only sensible thought here is that Iran must have loads of nukes so they're not a threat or no nukes so they're not a threat to anyone.

The other problem is that the potential for Iran to start behaving like a Rogue entity is reasonably high meaning that if they do attain Nuclear weapons they may not follow the Mutually Assured Destruction philosophy.

Lmao the Onion is satirical made-up news :L It's embarrassing and also hilarious that your sense of humour is so bad you've actually believed it!

Of course there is a real point to be made here but its hilarious your source is complete fiction. Soon enough you'll be quoting www.newsthump.com too.

Dan it's nice that you've been using sources other than Daily Mail recently but do try to steer clear of fake news sites

I knew it was a fake it is the Onion which i'm aware is a fake news site, I posted it for the reason of giving another perspective on this topic, as I said 'just a bit of perspective here is perhaps needed.'

Just because I don't use smileys whenever I joke doesn't mean i'm not joking. (see Doreen thread) ..

I'd agree, despite the satire it makes an incredibly good point and does not state anything untrue in the article.

That's the brilliance of The Onion, it's satirical but it can be used in contrast of real news to give an entirely new perspective alongside actual news.
