    Default Sony Vegas Crashing

I can't seem to do any sort of video editing with this laptop, whenever I import a video whether it's an hour long or 1 minute long the programme just freezes, I've tried different versions and all, it was perfectly fine when I got the laptop. Then my trail rang out and I got the portable version, then that's when things went down hill. I went about getting a not so legit copy of Vegas but it still has the freezing problem.

Anyone know how I can fix this? I don't think it's my laptop. It's a brand new i7, not the best processor but hey, still an i7 and I've got 4GB of RAM so I don't think it's performance.

    +Reps for all

I find the portable versions of big software like Vegas are always pretty troublesome, if everything was working fine when you had an installed trial copy, it must be the version you've downloaded?

Try getting an installable 'not so legit copy' if you want to stay down that route, or get a trial of Premiere Pro. It's probably the case but make sure you're running a 64 bit version of Windows to squeeze the RAM a little further.

I've literally tried everything, all the versions. But I think there's a file error when I installed the trail, but surely if everything was removed correctly I still don't understand why it isn't working correctly.

There is a update of Sony Vegas that does this.. you may have that if you do download a new/older one.

I don't think that will help, it's something to do with theregistryfiles I'm sure.. I'm just not aware of how to fix them.
