ohai. well, I won't beat around the bush, I'm basically packing a bit of extra baggage and I'm wondering - Does the cross-trainer really work that well when it comes to cardio and losing calories?! I use it and it just seems too easy? Like, I'll spend some time on there and I'll lose a fair amount of calories and I'm in a little disbelief that I could be losing that much haha.

Another thing, whats the best peice of equipment that you use at the gym?

    discussss my beauties.

i don't like the gym because i'm really socially awkward but i have a lot of dvd's i use at home, i do stuff like kickboxing workouts which i find is really good for burning calories and toning because it's pretty full on.

i would love a cross-trainer but i'm not allowed one so um yeah

I don't think there is a 'best equipment' but if youre doing a work outin a gym I'd say do 30mins on everything cardiovascular wise.

    Example:

    Rowing 10mins
    5min break
    Rowing 10mins
    5min break
    Rowing 10mins
    5min break
    Treadmill (walking speed) 10mins
    5min break
    Treadmill (jogging speed) 10mins
    5min break
Treadmill (jogging a lil faster) 10mins
    5min break
    Bicycle 15mins
    5min break
    Bicycle 15mins
    5min break
    Cross Trainer 15mins
    5min break
    Cross Trainer 15mins
    Total = 2 hours

This twice a week until you're satisfied with your progress should be good... If you think it's too easy, push yourself for longer periods of time and possible make it a 3hour session.

I've been going increasingly more to the gym and I like to go on the cross trainer but I actually feel that it does something and I do push myself slightly to make sure I sweat so I know I'm doing something - Sounds a bit gross I know, I go on that for about 20 minutes and I also like to do some rowing and some cycling too

Can't you up the level on the cross-trainer to make it slightly more challenging if you find it easy? I normally to the Kilimanjaro level because it slowly builds up to a hard level then back down again.

I was on the cross-trainer today and I upped the level quite a bit, it was more work to say the least It's a quality piece of equipment for cardio! I did the 'sweat thing' too hahaha! I made sure I was dripping before I got off so I'd be happy with what I'd done.

I'd use the cross trainer for weight loss - bike and rower don't really burn as much as the cross trainer.

I'd say overall that was the best for item in the gym for burning calories, it is in our gym. You can put a resistance on ours and it's no way easy!
