Has anyone else been watching this? I find it really interesting. I always seem to eat without knowing I'm eating as well![]()

I've heard some positive comments about this programme! I'm considering watching it when I get a bit of free time![]()
I watched this Wednesday and I found it really interesting because I do what the mother of the family did- pick at the food while I'm making it :L I also found the thing 'out of sight, out of mind' useful because if I see something on the kitchen counter that I like I'll probably just eat it.
cats > you
not exactly secret eaters considering their waistlines
I've actually tried out the "eating with your left hand" idea, it seems to work. It makes eating more awkward![]()
Watched the first episode but will not be watching anymore. How stupid do you have to be to get blood tests done before considering that maybe the reason you're a whale isn't because you lost the genetic lottery but rather because you're shoving too much food into your face hole? Occam's razor applies as ever.
If memory serves, the woman was under the impression that she was putting away 1300 calories a day when in reality she was averaging out at around double that. What a joke. They shouldn't be treating these people for their weight but rather for their mental state.
The program itself was quite misleading though. I watched the first episode when it aired which was a while ago now so correct me if I'm wrong on these facts. In one instance the presenter woman pointed out the health concerns associated with eating a 150g bag of crisps in one sitting. The crisps were displayed out of their packaging just in a small pile. Most people would just hear 150g and it would go in one ear and out the other but that's a massive bag of crisps when you consider that something like a multipack bag is ~28g and a stand alone bag is ~35g. People's minds would be going to those small bags of crisps rather than a 150g bag when they saw the small pile.
I seem to remember another instance where the presenter threw more numbers at the viewer, this time about unsaturated fat and specifically how much a certain food product contained. Unsaturated fat is good for you yet the average viewer isn't likely to make that distinction between unsaturated and saturated and it wasn't discussed on the show.
