I know their is free ones, like Bravenet.com i think i got a script for one on my desktop, it's a host for one xS

Its quite simple really
The easiest way to do it would jsut to write it to a flat file (easier for this) and then just display it.

And on XEnigma.co.uk , Mikes making a file on how to make a PHP shoubox, or atleast he was after he made his, then you could edit that t fitt your needs as a guestbook - Pretty much the same thing
