    Default bit of a problem.

I've got a friend that owes me about £80. We went to see a band and that and he said he'd pay me back later but it's starting to be awhile now. He's not really talking to me and ignoring messages etc. We're still good friends but he's off to uni soon-ish, little bit lost.

    Any suggestions? +rep.

    superhappy.

If he's ignoring he doesn't seem to be that bothered about paying you back, are you sure he's a good friend? Just confront him and say look mate, I'm going uni soon and am trying to save a bit of cash, could really do with that 80 quid you owe me...

In my opinion, you will not see that money back (if the situation is what I am imagining).

Test the waters, bide your time and at the next set of holidays borrow money from him (purposely ask him out somewhere but plead poverty) then when he asks for his money back - say you're equal. It'll take time, but hey - at least you'll have the money back.

I have done it before with small borrows from people even though I haven't been in need of money.

You'll just have to be direct and confront him, but it sounds like you won't be getting your money back.

To be honest, if he's a good friend of yours, then he would have returned the money to you immediately without you asking for the money back. Since he didn't, then try to confront him and be blunt to him. If it didnt work, then you'll probably wont get it back.

Confront them, better in person because it's there and then. If you text him then he will just know to ignore you.

Just come up with a reason why you're short of cash and you need some, then bring up the 80quid and say that'll put you back on your feet again if you got it back, etc.
