Default Postbox ignored for 23 years.

Lmao I actually found this rather amusing, idk where to put it...:

Postmen failed to collect letters from a postbox at one of the country’s busiest railway stations for 23 years.

Builders working on the renovation of Birmingham New Street Station found the
dusty letters dating back to 1989 when they removed the box last week.

Workers say they cannot understand how the letters escaped the notice of
postmen. The box was in full view of thousands of travellers for more than two
    decades.

Royal Mail is trying to deliver the letters to their rightful destinations.
Officials say they cannot understand why the postage was not collected.

The box was sealed earlier this year after rail commuters complained that
they caught their fingers in the narrow flap. An “out of action” sign was hung
    across it.

One postal worker said: “We didn’t know it was there, to be honest."

    ...

“We believe customers continued to post letters, oblivious to the fact it was
    not being emptied.”
    .

I know the postal service is bad but just... loool.

I read about this last week on digital spy haha. It's meant to be one that they removed but it was missed.

Surely some of the post people will use the train perhaps? So they should have seen it at least or just assumed someone else had seen to it! Rather funny though .

Is there a picture of it? I would have thought there would have been letters overflowing if it was left that long

I would have thought that it would be written down that it's one of the ones they have to collect from? Maybe they just didn't want to walk to it..

Britain's postal service isn't bad at all. In some places it's actually fast and efficient.

Also, what's the link to the article because I think it might just be satire.

These are the 2 articles I read:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012...n_1922340.html
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...-23-years.html

The text above is from the telegraph version. The "sealing" of the post box happened this year I believe, although the huffington version doesn't actually state this year but the telegraph does.

Thanks for the links. Those pics were cool! I miss the day when the only way to communicate was by home phone or post. I remember going there and back from the post office quite often back in the days.
