Default What format are you watching the Hobbit in?

This may seem like a rather bizarre thread but I'm fairly interested on people's views about cinema formats, considering the Hobbit will encompass a rather significant expansion in the combinations of film formats it seems convenient to choose the Hobbit as an example.

2D Normal: The original cinema experience, no bells or whistles.
2D IMAX (Proper): The real IMAX experience done from 70mm film rather than digital, generally not found inside multiplexes.
2D IMAX (Digital): The fake IMAX experience digitally projected and therefore being marginally better than plain 2D.
2D HFR: The big change, 48FPS, double the normal, resulting in far smoother motion, though generally considered not looking like a film.

All of the above also have 3D variants which I'm sure all of you are familiar with.

Sadly it will probably be 2D Vanilla if I decide to go and see it, but this HFR thing does sound interesting, so I would go and see that if it's available...

3D is meant to be better with HFR though, apparently the motion is less jerky.

Prob just flat 2D if I go, idk why not going would mean I have no imagination though since film tends to ruin the mental images that you get from books lol

Well, when we get the days of whole films being in 3D, and it doesn't look too crap, then maybe I'll be converted. And when they stop having scenes in films purely for the 3D, that annoys me as well.
