Question Kids Racks Up £1700 Bill On iPad

    Hey everyone,
I came across this news article and found it pretty interesting. Who are in the wrong here, the parents, Apple or the kid? All of them?
Personally, I think that the kid and parents should have read the "This in-app purchase will cost £XX.XX".
They had to physically click the "Purchase" button.

Apple cannot make it any more obvious can they? I suppose they felt slightly in the wrong as they issued the refund along with a statement regarding the parental control features that all iOS devices have.

So, right or wrong to issue the refund? Who was in the wrong? Post below!

The parents should've looked into it more. The word "Purchase" and "Buy" CLEARLY mean there will be payment involved.

Now-a-days, with PayPal and online payments, it is so easy to spend money. Just one button as oppose to picking something up in a shop, thinking about it, putting it down and then returning 3 days later to buy it.

Pure carelessness really. I do think that Apple should automatically disable "In-App Purchases" on new models, though.

Good idea! It could come up with a message "In-App purchases are disabled. They must be enabled in the iTunes account" So you can't just enable them on the device, it has to be enabled for the iTunes account itself.

Very true. They should make it easier to learn though. No one wants to read a wall of text. Make some videos!
