    Default would you speak out?

    ever see the show eyespy?

how do you think you'd react if you were in one of these situations?

honestly i feel like everyone in the UK is far too passive, and will just observe these things happening without ever intervening. i understand if it's a threat to your safety, but when you see someone being downright racist/abusive what are you gonna do?

i'd like to think i speak out, two situations that come to mind when i reacted when others didn't was that woman that had the stroke on the bus around this time last year (I MADE A THREAD ABOUT IT) where nobody did anything so i had to get the bus driver to stop

then another time was only last week when i was in line for a club and there were these indian guys in front of us and the bouncer goes 'sorry regulars only tonight' THEN THEY WALKED AWAY AND HE LET US IN AND WE'D NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE? we drunkenly scolded him then went to a diff club

    That looks really interesting!

I remember tara's thread about the person having a stroke on the bus and i was actually horrified at how many people must have just ignored her.

I have told someone that they had their skirt tucked into their knickers before and she was so grateful I thought it was lovely. However I have also possibly saved Stephen Hawking's life before because he was trundling through my city on this really posh wheelchair and his blanket was trailing on the floor and kept catching in the wheel and ripping a bit and it was clear it was gonna get trapped somewhere nasty soon so I ran over and said "excuse me but your blanket is catching in your wheels- here" and picked it up and gave it back to him. He didn't even stop. Just zoomed (well, "zoomed") off without even a thank you :|

i used to be SO passive ie if someone fell, i'd ignore it, if my nephew was gonna break something i'd ignore it too. tbh ive taken action over horrible things my brother was doing and in the end it all back fired on me so i just ignore a lot of things going on and say it's not my problem but when it comes to someones life being in danger ie that woman taking a stroke, i'd definitely intervene if it seemed no-one else would, that's just a risk you have to take.
also in our casinos guys never get in if they're with females, they're told they're too drunk even if girls are clearly drunker, they will ALWAYS ALWAYS let girls in. n i wouldn't complain. i think my friends would hate me and leave me by myself if i did complain about it. if it was racism though i'd definitely say something, my mum was laughing along at this guys racist joke to 'be polite' and i was like yeah thats not funny and mum stop trying to people please a racist and they both shut up. who wants to be polite to a racist just to stay on their good side... sometimes it feels good to be the person who speaks up because then eventually everyone else will

i've never been in any sort of position to speak out i don't think so i don't really know how i'd react

i'd like to think i'd say something and do something about it but i guess it depends whats going on, if it's a personal attack on somebody i probably would

I don't really recall any moments where I was given the opportunity to speak out. If it arose, I like to believe that I would. Things like the money, I'd definitely report it and I have done in the past. I believe most people would get a lot less passive as they grow older but obviously that isn't always the case.

Ohh I do like these sorts of things, i'm sure there was an American show on a few years that was the same format. As for myself - I used to be really shy when younger and wouldn't dare say a thing, but now i'm not bothered. I've chased two people down the street before over litter/dog mess and told them off/made a show of them, and i've done other things before.

You should speak out if something is wrong, ofc.
