I know a lot of people are highly against these dance movies that seem to keep coming, and coming, and coming...with sadly each one being even more predictable and repetitive than the last.
Save the last Dance is a classic. Step Up was a good one too, although that set in motion the sequels that are never as good as the initial movies.
There was Street Dance 3D, and Honey, and all of these movies which to be honest, I did quite enjoy.
Yesterday I saw this one advertised on one of the music channels;- Battle of the Year.
Immediately I was excited because it had Josh Holloway as the lead character. At first I was shocked, because I was a huge fan of his in Lost, and I wondered a) why he had taken such a role and b) could he pull it off.
I actually really enjoyed the movie. It's rated 3.6 stars on IMDB which is pretty poor, but the combination of Mr. Holloway and Josh Peck was interesting, if also surreal.
This leads me to the point of this thread: has anybody else seen the movie? What did you think? Do you find it strange watching actors who have played long-running characters doing different roles?
I kept thinking about Sawyer being a B-Boy.
AND in fairness, I just checked out IMDB further and only three people have left reviews. Let me dig deeper. Rotten Tomatoes gives it... 5%.
Oh.
Never mind, it was enjoyable and my boyfriend also sat through it without running away.
