    Default Windows on a Mac.

Getting a Retina MB Pro for christmas, though I need to install Windows on it for University as I need to run some specific windows applications,

I'm wondering how do I go about on installing it on a Mac / What software do I need to buy?

You can use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac, just Google it. Alternatively, you can use software like VirtualBox, which is free

What do you need the "Mac" part for, out of interest? You might as well just go for an ordinary Windows machine which would be cheaper if you're only going to install Windows on it :/

I did the same last year but used a Windows 7 disc that I already had. I think the best way to do it is buy an OEM version of Windows. I'm pretty sure you can then use that when you go through the bootcamp setup - because you can't use the Windows 8 upgrade unless you install Windows 7 first.

Using the Mac part mostly for ordinary use, all my documents at the moment are saved on the iCloud anyway, and I need to use FinalCut Pro for Video production.
