Head Boy Speech

Yesterday I had an interview for head boy and I managed to make the shortlist of 4. This means I need to pitch why I should be head boy, etc, to all the prefect applicants (approx 60) and the teachers. What topics should I ring up? Please note that I have a fairly short time to pitch.

I have things like; what I would implement, opinion on new policies (like out at lunch) and why i should be head boy.

Talk about issues that everyone is interested in so that it's engaging. Do some research into what people at your school think needs improving or needs changing. I'm sure lots of people would be liking the idea of going out of school for lunch, maybe work on that and get opinions from people on that issue and share them, to show you are there to represent them and their ideas.

Is a vote taken among school/sixth form members? If so, go for a strong speech (although not OTT) and you'll win it.

It was out of teachers and everyone else who applied for prefect. I got 2/3 of pupil votes! I'm so chuffed! Thanks for the adviCe everyone!

I'm definitely with everyone here, find out what the current issues are with your classmates (environmental, lunches, assemblies, do they feel their voices are heard by staff?) are good areas to look into.
