    Default Stepmum of doom

So i'm living back with my dad and his wife until I've paid my debt off, paying rent to my stepmum even though my dad owns the house. My dad's on a really good wage, so he pays for everything, my stepmum, however, doesn't work, because she cant be bothered finding a job.. I just think it's because she's an alcoholic.. anyway.. So on a daily basis she consumes a full box of country mannor in her room. She hides the boxes of wine under her bed... Her daughter also lives with us, and she can't do anything wrong.. where as I'm am the hated one.. It's hard to tell you what she's like.. but she's a physco.. She slams doors, she hides things (Food, Cutlery, Phone, Toothpaste, Toilet roll) The other month she actually called me "gayboy", I went on a mad un', Who does she think she is? So when it get's like this, my dad leaves the house for week, leaving me to deal with an alcoholic physco.. She's locked me out before now.. I couldn't go into work because all my uniform was in my draws.. Part of me now, is thinking.. should I just move out?? I can't handle the beast any longer.. ;/

Sounds like she's awful but it is more her house than yours and there's no point in bringing your dad into an argument over it. If I were you I'd find a friend or another family member to stay with until you're financially stable.

Love a bit of country manor but yeah if she's stopping you from being able to work then unless you're paying far far far less than you would elsewhere it's prob in your best interests to move on - especially if you have a chum you can sponge off for a bit since they prob wouldn't mind having a bit of extra coin anyway

Definitely go somewhere else if she's like that. It's not worth the hassle, especially if you're paying for it.
If not I'm sure there are other options you could explore - but couch surfing with friends may be the safest bet.

Part of me would suggest you move out as you shouldn't have to put up with her but then again it's your house as much as hers. It's a shame that your Dad seems oblivious to all of this but it sounds like, from the information you've provided, that she is showing signs of being a pretty bad alcoholic. My uncle did the same thing, he came over on holiday and drank so much alcohol it was unreal. He hid all the bottles in his suitcase but we still found them yet he denied that he drank too much and his mood swings were pretty horrific too. Maybe whilst your dads going away try and get all the belongings you'll need for a week and go and stay with a mate or something. In terms of a long-term situation, if you can't get through to your Dad and things only worsen, then finding your own accommodation would probably be for the best.

Also the fact she is verbally insulting you, just remember it's probably going to be the alcohol talking rather than her (although I have no idea what shes like normally) but yeah you sound like you're ignoring her the best you can, which is good.
