    Default Outfit help +rep

    Okay helloooo!

    I've been looking for an outfit for quite a while for my nephews confirmation (a religious event) for the past few months and I've literally come up with nothing. It's at the end of April so I'm hoping to whack out some nice tanned legs after they've spent their winter under my tights.

    My first dilemma is I want to look GOOD, I've not seen any of my family in 8 month and I want them to be like wow KELLY looking fab! Also, I'm going to be in a church for it and it needs to be quite respectable, but after that I'll be spending my day outside (provided the weather is nice). So I want something sort of classy, but I LOATHE dresses past the knee and think I'm far too small for them (I'm 5 ft 5). I was looking at maxi dresses, but they're just not my type of thing.. I normally wear skater dresses, but idk I'm trying to change it up a bit for once in my entire life and not wear the same type of clothes over and over (literally in Ireland and England a lot of my friends refer to certain dresses as a 'Kelly dress'). Everything I've been looking at so far I just seem to fall back to square one (a black dress or a black and white dress) and I just sort of want to move away from them. I've looked at so many websites now and looked in town but can't find anything that really grabs my eye. My price range is probably at a max of like £60, maybe.

    IDK what other information I can give, I'm clutching at straws here +rep to all that give serious replies x

    I'm not too sure if this is your sort of thing but I think it'll look really nice with a jacket or some tights maybe? http://www.next.co.uk/x55104s9#969025x55 @Absently;

    Maxi dresses hardly suit anyone (despite so many people wearing them ugh) and probably aren't appropriate for a church unless it's the height of summer, same with being dressed in mostly black at a confirmation. Just seems a bit.. funeralish.

    I bought one of these in the blue spot and it looks so much nicer irl than how that model is looking. She makes it look tacky but it's really nice for like smart casual events. If you want to go more formal there's one in a plum colour that looks more serious than the others. Don't know if they'd suit you or not and whether or not they're too long for you as I'm 5'9 going on 5'10 and it stops just at the top of my knees.
    Wow I'm looking at the models wearing them now and they make them look so painfully tacky I can't even look at them anymore. I can 100% promise you don't have to look like that irl. Wow ok.

    This seems to be my issue too, I fall in love with a dress I see online, but then the model makes it look not so nice with how it falls on her body and it's happened so many times to me

    Yeah, I'm thinking I might bring flats with me in my bag or something in case I need to change, but I might be fine cus I'm assuming I'll be sat down for the majority of the day!
