Default Barclays bPay - Contactless payment on your wrist, keys or phone

Barclays recently launched the next stage in contactless payment. bPay. bPay is basically a little fob, card or wrist band you can buy which allows for easy contactless payment on the go.

I received an email with a half price voucher by email, so I opted for the key fob as I always have my keys with me.

The choices are: bPay wristband, bPay fob and bPay card. Find out more about them here: http://bpay.co.uk/home?cid=ppcb_sc15...he-bpay-family

You basically purchase one of these and you get like a sim card with it (well I did with the fob) and then you can download the bPay app which tracks your spending (or do it online) and then all you do is top up the account from your credit or debit card and you're good to go!

Quite excited to try mine, I just like gadgety things, and it was only £10! Means I don't have to get my wallet out unless I'm spending a bit

This is quite cool, I wonder if Natwest will bring something like this too, although they have integrated with Apple Pay very recently so we'll see. I'd use the fob if I had to choose. The wristband looks a bit clunky and the card is too much of an advertisement.

You don't need to be with barclays to use it, you top it up from any of your debit or credit cards.

Your card doesn't need to be contactless, the fob or whatever is contactless, you just top it up with your credit or debit card.

I've used mine twice in Morrisons now and it's so quick and easy Much easier than opening an app from apple to pay lol.

Oh thought by the way you wrote your post, that you thought you couldn't use bPay if your current card wasn't contactless.

When did you last get a new card? If you've not had one for a few years, then you may not have got a contactless one yet.

If not, when you next get a new card, depending what type of account you have, I assume, then they should send you a contactless one, as I did.

Have a look here, it may answer your question: http://www.lloydsbank.com/current-ac...ontactless.asp

You don't need to open an app for Apple Pay. Just double click on your home button when your phone is locked and it activates Apple Pay.
