    Default When were casino's removed?

Just curious, I've never really seen an issue with it.
But it must have been taken off at some point, anyone know the reasoning behind it and when it happened?

Dunno the actual dates it's prob on the wiki somewhere but it's basically because they wanted to get Habbo in the app store and if they allowed casinos to carry on they'd legally have to call it an 18+ app or whatever so they decided to make all of daddy's little darlings who'd spent thousands cry which was hilarious

I never was very good at casinos - they never made any sense
but I'm pretty sure people still run secret ones don't they?
idk though - just heard rumors; I don't see any issue with having them banned anyway

    From the wiki:

On the 18th February 2014, codes were found that suggested that a Dice limit would be enforced in player's rooms on Habbo. Depending on how many Dice could be used in a room determined the future for betting, Casinos and general pay to play/pay to stay games. When this came about, players had to wait just under 2 months to find out what the Dice limit was - which caused uproar immediately.

The ban was officially enforced on the 7th April 2014, after Habbo published an article informing players of their change for how games were played on Client. The article didn't just stop at Dice type objects, but all random chance objects including Color Wheels, Magic Crystal Balls and Wheel of Fortunes.

Upon publication of the article, Habbo removed all the random chance Catalog items from sale such as the Spinning Bottle and Holodice.

Habbo's limit of random chance items in a room was set at 3, and if a player had over that amount in then a pop up would occur if someone tried to use it.

As Habbo didn't want to ruin the Casino industry altogether, they allowed Casino rooms to be used as a theme, but placing bets by outcome of a random element would be.

As players began panic selling their random chance items, Habbo released a special limited Furni-Matic whereby players could recycle their chance items and get a fixed amount of Credits back from it. Unfortunately, some of the prices didn't add up to what the actual value was.

Since the ban was put in place, some Super Rares such as Throne and Gold Dragon Lamp have plummeted in price due to them being used primarily in Casino rooms.

A common misconception is that it was because of the legality (underage users gambling being banned in their respective countries etc) but I saw at the time Habbo staff (Powertoo or WaltzMatilda IIRC) said that they made the decision due to the high number of users being scammed (very easy to do in a sino) or hacked.

I don't remember them ever doing a proper press release or article about it at all, only things about the trade-in for randomisation furni when Arcades and stuff were all closed down too.

I can't believe it was only last year, feels like ages ago!

Thats actually really interesting. So presumably me recreating a casino & it not being in use would be fine, There was a lot of mixed views on them for as long as i can remember but never thought they would actually take them out altogether.

    Thanks guys

Anything with "Casino" in the room title is banned or removed these days which is completely contradictory to the rule about actually gambling... although I suppose if you named it "casino memorial" or "throwback" then you might have a stronger case if you were banned for it (which i think could be likely)

I miss the dealing industry on Habbo. In the game you always had classes of traders in the market, and you could often just tell who belonged to which class just by talking to them. I was never a part of the casino dealing class which dealt in super rares and could be quite arrogant, instead I was always with lower traders both in terms of wealth and who I got on well with. That said, I had a lot of dealings/contacts with dealers due to rare values and I do miss that side of the game: we were always battling against eachother sort of like social classes in terms of trading, but were all similar at the same time and understood certain unwritten rules. It was also always interesting to see how traders would change in personality when they 'made it' in casino dealing.

It's a part of the old Habbo that has gone forever, sad really.
