I am excited for you, Coral.

Lucky for you, I just wrote an article not too long about preparing for interviews. Here's the link: https://habbox.com/all-articles/prep...r-an-interview

just be YOURSELF! retail is all about a judge of ur character and who you are and from my experience they ask silly questions like 'what brand would best describe you' also google the questions that they usually ask at their interviews? some sites have some and they're good to practice or also if you know people who work there, ask them too

I can only say from my experience which has been in retail, but i'd assume it applies to other job sectors too!

Show that you're a friendly face so smile a lot (but don't become creepy about it). Be chatty and show you can hold a discussion without being shy, so be confident. Even if youre not just fake it til u make it babe x
researching the interview always helps, if it's a big company 9 times out of 10 there will be example questions online of what people have been asked before
research the company in general too, it doesn't have to be in too much depth cos it's not a test but make sure you know what the company is etc so you can answer the typical 'what do u know about out company' questions

also dont forget the obvious questions like whats ur weaknesses and strengths, make sure u think of possible answers to that before you go in

ALSO, i promise this is the last point ok x, when youre in the interview if they ask you a question that you cant immediately come up with an answer for, it doesn't matter if you sit there and think for a minute or so! this was always something i stressed about so much cos i thought if you didnt answer straight off the bat theyd deduct points or whatever
but they dont from my experience theyre quite happy to let you think of a fabulous answer (unless you take like 3 minutes then ur pushing it ; / )

edit; jeez i just looked back after posting and didnt realise i wrote so much awkward

Just be yourself. At the end of the day it's shop floor work, as long as you answer the questions asked of you and come across as a vibrant helpful hard-worker, you'll be ok. If you don't get the job, not to worry! Plenty of jobs available at this level.

Dress code should be smart. If I were going I would be wearing shirt, tie and trousers. Nothing more than that!

I would researched a little bit about the company beforehand, such as when they were formed, perhaps who by and what their aims are for the next X years. I've only had one job, but on the application form for it, it asked what I knew about the company and it's really easy to find stuff like that out just by googling it!

I would also dress fairly smart, black trousers, a plain shirt or a blouse, maybe a blazer just so they know you can be presentable (even though in future you'd be wearing their uniform). There's also a sort of 'posh' factor when it comes to M&S so dressing smart might just help!

Also, coming across as confident, not too confident that you sound cocky, but act happy as well as that would be great showing you can be happy for customers and provide great customer service and a friendly face.
