Hey You can only edit your post/thread for 15 minutes after you have made the post. After that time editing is not allowed.

If you want a post/thread editing (e.g for a list to be updated) you could ask a moderator to do it for you and they will do it at their discretion. Just drop them a private message/visitor message on the forum and ask them if they would mind editing it for you. You can find out who the moderators/super moderators (or even forum management/general management as they can edit posts too) are by checking out the staff list here

Thanks for the response, it does seem like a long winded way to edit a post, especially if a post was a list of everything I have for sale. I would be sending them messages everyday

I brought that up about the trading forum in the past, but apparently, it's a "pointless" thing to introduce.

I actually wouldn't think it would be any harm to allow users to edit their own posts in that forum.

Why is it actually limited to 15 minutes?

I always assumed it's because it's hard to moderate if people can go back and edit their posts a long time afterwards?

That's right yeah. Not something I imagine many people would abuse these days, but it does save us from people potentially adding something nasty to a post further down the line.
