The answer, is infact, 4,100.
Your brain tricks you into thinking the answer is 5000.
Let's calculate.
1000+40 = 1,040
1000+30 = 1,030 - 1,040 + 1,030 = 2,070.
1000+20 = 1,020 - 2,070 + 1,020 = 3,090
1000+10 = 1,010 - 3,090 + 1,010 = 4,100
[ 3,090 + 10 = 4,100 ]
