What I don't get...

The reputation system is there to tell others about their posts... Right? Well people talk about being 'Bad reped for no reason' or 'Revenge reped' But they were bad reped on the fact of their post and their repping.

There shouldn't be complaints about people bad repping them because thats the whole point.

You get some good and a few bad, deal with it.

I hate people who moan at the fact that they get bad reped back "Omg, he bad reped me 'cause i bad reped him, BAN HIM! BAN HIMMMM!!11oneon!!1".

It is against the forum rules to give pointless reputation, either good or bad. This means giving reputation without a good reason. When it happens to somebody they can report it. Giving somebody bad rep because they gave you bad rep is not a good reason so not allowed.

But they can say: "I reped them because they did a bad post" And show the post to the admin.

If it's in their opinion of what a bad post is, then you can't dissallow it or void it because in the end the reputation system is an opinion of what YOU think on other peoples posts.

For example, someone could bad rep me for saying that I am talking utter rubbish in this post. (Fair enough, it's their opinion) someone else could good rep me because they could think I'm right in what I'm saying and right to what I'm posting.

Going back to the person that gave me the bad rep, I could go through his post's and find a post which in MY opinion would be bad, then you would have the guy saying "OMG HE BAD REPED ME I'M TELLING !!! U R GETTING BANNED FOR REVENGE REPPPPPP!".

I agree, it's their post that they may personaly dislike (the bad repper) but like Sierk said Revenge repping is Against the Forum rules.

Admins can be doing much better things installing new features etc.. instead of removing Rep.

i know that their is a Modification on vb.org (hack site for vB), that forces you to enter a Comment, however Bad repping can be not allowed by going to usegroup > Edit and go down to the reputation section. i know a forum that does this is do believe but i cannot remember which.

But if it's their post they are bad repping then a 'revenge rep' doesn't exist because the rep would be given to the post, (Or so he/she could say)

Good guy: *Bad reps guy because of bad post*
Bad guy: *Bad reps back*
Good guy: *Reports bad rep because he/she thinks it's a 'revenge rep'*
Admin: *Messages guy and tells him not to revenge rep*
Bad guy: *Complains that he enver 'revenged rep' that it was to do with the good guys post because he didn't like it and it's HIS opinion if it's a bad post since it's HIS rep.

So how can someone justify a revenge rep? You can't.

The admin or super moderator will decide if a rep is pointless or not in his opinion.

I Can understand if its like they send you a bad one that says Boo. That would need to be taken on in my Opinion But as Sierk said its all up to the forum admin at that point of time

But if it's up to the Admin/Smod then it's not really an opinionated from the members (Who actually post the rep)

If Admins decide what 'reps' are allowed then it's not exactly fair.
