Has anybody even successfully made one, or is in the process of making one

All "online cities and chat" fail when they realise the true amount of capital they need to start the actual business/company up and the costs of programmers/staff/moderators/servers/ the rest of it.

Well, atm

www.jabbatown.com (my baby ) has a fully functional BETA, but we havent had many updates as of yet due to, well reasons i cannot disclose
www.solace-city.com is a chat i expect to do incredibly well.

there are others, but to be honest, they're the only ones i see doing majorly well at the moment.
