[CS:S] Any ping reducing tips?

I've noticed that a lot of people have pings around 50-100, and they are the players who have been playing for ages..

So is there anykind of way to reduce your ping?

I'm sorry for not answering your question, but what is ping? Sometimes when I go into a server it says "Your ping is over 100. Reduce it or you will be kicked" :S

Its very complicated so all i can say is...

The higher the ping, the worse you are. If your ping is high (350-999) you are causing lag to the other players so you will be kicked

Its all bout internet connection speeds, locations of servers etc

My ping on average would be 30, dunno what my internet connection is but i've got aol platinum. Also, I have 1Gb RAM.

If you close everything that uses the internet, and get anyone else using your connection to stop using things, then your ping should be 30-70.

use the filters to get a server close to ur location

Just as Nintendo said, close everything else that uses the internet, like P2P/torrent programs, MSN, Antivirus update software.

All you need to run is Steam. Which doesn't help, as it does stuff in the background too.
