I need help with making a layout

I need a tutorial on how to make a good layout like you see on most sites. I have Photoshop and Paint. If someone could type me up one or give me a link to a post in the forum it would be helpful and I'll reward you with rep. Thanks.

Trial and error. You know most sites are structured in boxes (Sections) then add images, graphics if you so please to the template, and post your end result. I can't find my first ever template, but I'm sure nelly could easily beat me.
