    Default MYSQL Error

    Hi,

    I have been trying to put a vbulletin forum back-up onto my server, but get this error:

    MySQL: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' at line 6

    Stopped on error

    I know that this is because my new server has a different MYSQL Version then the old server, and have tried editing the file to take out all of the MYSQL snippets about the character set, but whenever I open the 30mb file my computer freezes and I end up having to restart! I am at my wits end, and not quite sure what to do next. Is there an easier option to put up this backup without having to take out the MYSQL Character set snippets?

    Many thanks.

    Make a phpinfo file like so:

    Create a file called phpinfo.php

    put the following in it:

    PHP Code:
    <? echo phpinfo(); ?>
    Then go on it on your server, check what version it is then check if vb supports it.

    Thanks

    Sygon
