Nope . I have brace and it didn't hurt putting them on. One bad thing, for the first couple of day you may find it hard to eat food (Well I did). I had to have soup for a week. But after that I could eat what ever I wanted.

Matty's right. Having them put on is no pain at all, but while they adjust to your mouth they can feel abit tender; but as long as you don't start chomping on a gobstopper or something you'll be OK

    Depends which brace you get

    Butterfly ( Top Brace ) =
It dosent hurt when put on or after. Your mouth
May get a little dry. And it takes a couple of days
    get used to.
    Twin Blocks ( Top & Bottom ) =
Also, it dosent hurt when put in or after. But
This brace is really annoying. You cant Bite
At the front because you have a gaping gap.

    Train Trax ( Fixed Braces ) =
Now, It hurts a little bit if she/he puts colour
On your braces if you have sensative teeth. It
about 4-5 days for you front teeth to stop
    hurting.
All the information Ive got from when I had braces. I still got train trax. But there PINK!
    ok. :/

I'm getting braces soon too. I'm waiting for my orthodontist to contact me to tell me the date though, they seem to be taking forever.

From what people who have braces have told me, it only hurts when you have them tightened.
If I was you, I'd hate me too..
