Looking at thies stats for the different in Price:
Rune Kite: 40k-50k
Obbsidian Shield: 400k-500k

Yes But the range may be better but the Mele stats are worse and out of all the Monsters/Players there arnt that many range compared to mele

I used it for the +5 str, until I got my rune defender. I still use though, it I need defence. I personaly think it is worth it, but thats just my opinion.

I got to admit obby sheild looks nicer but there is gilded, zammy, guthix and saradomin ect rune sheilds
