Well, You shouldn't really upload them, Because you only have a limited amount of space, as you've seen. You should think about HOSTING them.
But, If you want them to fit when you upload them, Save them as a .PNG
There the same quality as Bitmap, But a lot smaller in size (kb)

althogh its not a very good idea, its a good alt, very tidy with no errors.
