    Unhappy Whos right??

Right, my parents have always told me if i've got a problem then i should sort it out on the rugby pitch. Well i've never really had a problem with anyone, i get on with everyone and don't tend to make enemies.
But recently a guy in my year went out of his way to **** me off, just simple tittle tattle really, nothing serious. Until last week, he started a rumour about me.
Now seriously i'm a quiet person, but this guy REALLY does my head in. So i took my parents advice, next team practice i sphere tackled him, he wasn't that badly injured; just a sprained wrist.
Now my coach comes over, tells me to 'Get off his pitch' and 'Don't come back.' So i go off and once the practice is over i ask the coach if i can come back on the team. He said 'If you want to fight someone, do it outside of school, not on the rugby pitch.'

So i'm torn between the two. Who to believe my parents or my coach??

    Thanks x

Depends. Do you want a fight with him?

I would just carry on with rugby. Say it was an accident and you didn't intend to hurt him.
Keep him as a target in Rugby, but don't just go for him - go for others aswell, that way you won't be suspicious

    Neither.

If you try to sort out a problem 'on the pitch' and fight people then it will just cause a lot of trouble. It could encourage other people to get involved and more trouble could come out of it, which wouldn't benefit anyone. Aswell as this you will most likely get kicked out the team, and I doubt another one would take you.

However, if you sort it out off the pitch, then following weeks at rugby etc. are going to be very tense and emotions will be flying, so I say you should simply take the guy to the side and ask him what his problem is with you. If he just explains that he's got a problem, then say fair enough your entitled to your opinion, and keep out his way. That's the mature way to do things.

Your parents seem to have the impression that just because rugby is a contact sport, it condoles you to be violent towards other people, which is wrong. It may be a contact sport, but it's not a place to sort out personal differences.

Thanks for your advice everyone. And i didn't fight him, it was a fair tackle. Just i suppose because it was training and you don't go that hard at training. I believe what i did was right and i can't go back on it.

How did you do it? Did you just slap his wrist. Why dont kick his shins in a huddle ( i don't no what the names of things are called in rugby). Or elbow him in the face.

Take them aside and ask for a straightener if you want to fight someone, don't spere them on the pitch and not expect to get in trouble ;P

Fighting solves alot of problems, sometimes a fight is the only option left to you, and yes, it can settle problems.
