Default i want to join a band + make a cd

I'm a teen and i like to sing and i play the piano, so i want to join a band in my school. I just don't really know any ways to get known in my school or even how to find a band for me to join. Does anyone have any ideas how i could get into a band in my school? +rep for all ideas.

And how do i make a cd with the band or solo by myself? Do i need special recording equitment or a recording studio? I don't want cd to be anything fancy, just to have good sound on it. Is there a way to record on the computer other than the sound recorder?(a program that you can lay voice over music.) +rep for all ideas.

    Thank You,

Okay well, a lot of my friends are really talented musicians and are in bands, so I hope I can help you with this!

Basically what they did, was got known in the music department with the teachers at school, and through that they met other people who were talented and good at music ie. playing instruments.

You just need to find and know of other people who are good at say drums, singing, guitar etc. and ask them if they'd like to join you.

After your bands together you need to have some practices and decide on what songs you want to sing and perfect them etc. then when you finally think your ready, you can book a recording studio for fairly cheap and they record everythign and burn it to a cd for you. Failing that, there's a progra called WavePad that allows you to simply record for a long time basically, and you can use a computer microphone to sing and take in the sounds of the instruments!

    Good luck! :]

What the guy above me pretty much covers it, but if you find it hard getting well known with people, maybe put a notice up about it, saying that you want some band members for a band your making. You might get some people come then, and if you get known with them & the music department, you could get more people for your band maybe?

In my town there is a rock music shop that has a board for people that want to get a band going or need help. Maybe in yours there is something similar.

Don't stop playing the piano, the more you play the better you get

Ask some of your friends if they play musical instruments, and if you like what they play etc, ask them to start a band. Me and my best friend are thinking of makoing one, me on drums and him on guitar. All we need is some more people though.

Also, ask your/a Music teacher to see if you can use a practice room at lunch or something? At my school you can ask to practice in them, sadly they're always booked up =[ They should be free to practice

About the cd; All I know is that you won't need a Recording Studio, or anything expensive.
My brother used to MC (boooo!) with his mates, and recorded them - soon making CD's. I'm not sure what they used, but it only costed around 20 - 40 pounds.

Good luck, and don't give up your dream

Well I was in a school band,I took my Guitar in school and used to play, now im in college i still use it and i've got a few people here who play at partys at college etc

Apart from that, someone from hte music production contacted me the other day.

And to make a CD, well it depends, you can either make it on your computer and burn it onto a CD, or you can by all means go to a place what puts them on the cd for you at a small charge.

Well firstly i'd suggest getting musical lessons.
It would help with you guitar techniques and for voice it helps with control, pitch, range etc. Choir is daggy but if you want to sing. And it helps if your school does productions.
Next take music as a class if you dont already, because it helps with the composition element of songs adn your preformance skills.
If you do music theres got to be alot of other people that do. Just jam in class or ask if they'd like to play with you. Music teachers often help bands get together.
Once you have a band see a local record shop or a small radio staion maybe and see if you could get your song recorded. Your school might have some equipment [ mine has a recording studio ]. If not a music chop should have one upstairs and they can help mix your demo for a fee.

It takes alot of hard work and practice singing especially!
But good luck in living your dream =)

    →he said call me now
    →and id come a running
→If you'd call me now baby id come a running.
