Default HUH?! I lag with CS 1.6 !!

CS 1.6 lags on my (crap) laptop.

    My laptop has:

    1.40 Ghz Intel Celeron Proccessor
    256mb Ram

So it should work (well it does) but it lags somtimes, not all the time but it will some of the times. Help will be appriciated. Thanks.

Close everything but steam and xfire, if that doesn't help go to the options and turn the graphic details down to medium/low, if it still lags use a map that's closer to where you live

Is your laptop on dial up?
If so use a router or something to your main pc.

I use a router from the main pc. We use Blueyonder Broadband so shouldn't be any problems there.
