Good to know that your fish are alright. I dont really no alot about this topic, its just i have fish. I advice you to clean and scrub your tank to remove the algae. This shud be repeated like 4 times a year maybe? If you dont have a cleaner thing that sucks in the water and cleans it, then obviously you would have to do it more often depending how severe the algae is

Keep an eye on that white spot, as it could be the start of a stress related disease called white spot which can kill them. I suggest you buy a treatment for this just incase as it's quite common when setting up a new tank. Also you may want to buy yourself a pH tester kit, to make sure everything is at good levels as if the tank is new then it won't have started up it's bio system yet.
As for the algae, get some algae treatment solution, you should be able to buy it from your local pet/aquatics shop.
If you can't get any just clean the ornaments/glass/things covered in algae.

    Hope this helped,
Good luck with the tank, :]

Ah, thought you ment like a goldfish or something. I used to have swordtails, they're easy to breed :]
The products for algae have different names depending on the company, but they'll all say Algae treatment on there somewhere.

Algae eating fish are a good idea, and no they don't eat other fish unless they die and sink to the bottom, but I don't advise leaving dead fish in there lol.
Do you have a tropical, salt water or fresh water tank by the way?
