Default Charity To Donate To (Habbox VIP Charity Christmas 2006)

    Hey there guys and gals,

Well as you know, we are raising money for charity through VIP and reputation this Christmas season. If you don't know, then basically, ALL the money that is paid to Habbox for all VIP and reputation is being given to charity. That's right, every last cent! What charity I hear you ask? Well that's what we want you to decide! Originally we intended to donate it to World Visions UK, a charity who helps those in Africa and in poverty, which has loads of cool things which we'll go into later. However when talking it over in the Managers Forum, some managers thought that other charities deserved our donations and we should change it up. So we figured that since it is your money, we'd let you decide! We've narrowed it down to 6, now its up to you to choose the best charity! This poll will be open till Christmas day, and it will then close and based on the poll we will donate it to that charity. Below there's a short outline of each charity and a link to the site so you can learn more about it. Click on the name of the charity to go to its website!

    World Vision UK

World Vision UK is a charity that gives to the poor in many different ways. One of the many ways is helping the impoverished and poor in Africa. There are many ways to help them, but the way we chose last year and are choosing for this option again this year, is to buy them actual merchandise. These can be things such as oxen, goats, school supplies, and more! For more on what we could purchase, check out this page: http://www.greatgifts.org/GiftSelect...x?AdID=WVMain1 You can browse by price category or category of gift.

    Unicef

Unicef is a charity to help the children who are suffering globally. They provide help with education, and child development. Additionally, Unicef works on gender equality issues. They also race to help out nations suffering with the burden of HIV/AIDS. Protecting children from child abuse is also a big factor in what they do. All proceeds that we give to this charity will be given in cash and spent how Unicef sees fit.

    Red Cross

    Taken from the website

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.
This is also a globally recognized charity who does much in emergency situations. All money donated to this charity will be given in cash and spent how the charity sees fit.

    Operation Christmas Child

This organization provides Christmas presents to those who do not recieve any due to being in poverty or who are in desperate situations. They send the unfortunate children shoeboxes filled with presents for the holidays and send them Gospel booklets in their own language. This charity reaches out to the children who have noone else or are in a bad way. All money donated to this charity will be given in cash and spent how the charity sees fit.

    Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International

Many children are diagnosed with Type 1 (Juvenile Diabetes) from ages 0-30. This causes them to have to monitor blood sugar, watch what they eat, and lead a rather constrained life from an early age. This has a big effect on the children and scientists are working hard to find a cure. All money donated to this charity will be given in cash and spent how the charity sees fit.

    Lance Armstrong Foundation

Many many people suffer from cancer and are put in pain and sometimes given the news that they only have a certain amount of time to live. Some can go through Chemotherapy and be cured, however not all can. A cure is being work towards fervently, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation is one of the largest charities working towards a solution. All money donated to this charity will be given in cash and spent how the charity sees fit.

Ok well that's all of them, obviously I have my own personal opinion as do you, but I tried to make a case for all of them. You don't have to go by what I said, you can look at the sites themselves and see if you agree with what they stand for. Please vote in the poll and leave your comments or questions on this thread.

    Thanks!
