    Default Question about flash preloading.

Ok so my site http://www.stacking.co.nr takes forever to load because it has a lot of movies and all loads before the site starts.

I could make all the movies load externally so when you click on a link it loads the movie. Elimanating the begining loading time. The problem with this is that once the movie is loaded and the person is watching it, nothing else is loading because all the movies are external. So after that movie the user has to click on another link and waite for it to load. Is there a way to have it so the priority goes to the movie that the user clicks on. But when everything is done loading and say the user is watching the movie, the rest of the site loads behind the scenes? With external swfs or not.

    Thanks for any help.

Dude, that is just stupid. It takes too long to load. Try compressing some of it.

I am trying to ask for advice on how to load it better so it doesnt take long.

Does compressing it loose quality. And Can I compress a swf?

No, but try saving some of the images as smaller file formats.

The files are movies so I cant really save them in bad quality because I need them to look like habbo.

Your name being FlashDesigner maybe you can help me with the loading part. If you didnt, please read the original post and give some advice on how I could get that loading thing to work. So you click on a clip and it loads. And you watch it. But while you are watching it, it loads the begining of all the other clips.

    So maybe this.

The main page just has one frame because all the movies are external.

When you open the main page all the external pages load at the same time. Like not one then another. Like all external movies at 5% then 10%.

Then when you click on a link to a movie all the loading stops and only the movie you are watching gets loaded quickly with a preloader. When it is done loading you watch it and while you are watching it, the rest of the movies keep loading like at 20% then 30%.

Is there a way to do that?

I dont need a step by step guide but maybe a little advice in the right direction?

They are allready bad quality movies. What format are you saving them in? Try converting to flash video (flv).

I want to work on preloading them.

But I will take that into consideration if I loaded the movies externally to export them in flv.

is flv lower size? and higher quality?

I know the pyramid one is bad quality because I had to shrink it.

I need more advice on the original post.

if it has sound delete it off just that slight rustle adds loaaads. if you used camtasia studio you can usually compress the original, wmv? file..
but compress the original files then export them into swf meaning a smaller swf

and 3. if people need your website they'll have the time to wait for it. i've seen the site very good you should get a proper 2.99 for 2 years of 1&1UK .co.uk domain well worth it...
AND one more option load certain files externaly others all together..
How could this hapen to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee?lol.
