What is the best armour to DEFEND form range?

I'm doing moneky madness and i need to have a good idea of what armour protects from range the most.
I don't need help on the actuall quest, just what armour to wear to get past those idiot monkeys

Melee armour such as rune.

bring full rune and obby shield as obby shield has better range bonus then rune kite
