Winning Mother's Day Poems

Habbo on Friday set us the task of writing poems. The winners have been annouced... Even though it's all over now, there's not much point?

Winning poems announced!
Well you Habbos certainly do love your Mums, theres no denying that! We had hundreds of emails, poems about Real life Mums, Habbo Mums, messages to one particular Mum or giving thanks to Mums everywhere... We were spoilt for choice!

In the end the decision fell to me (& Heidster who I bribed with cuppas) to pick our winners and we went with our hearts on this one - I picked ones that I felt would mean the most to the Habbos who wrote them and to the Mother's who gave them to us, we also went for poems that made us smile or laugh.

I'm sorry if your poem doesn't feature, it doesn't mean we didn't like it. I suggest, if you haven't already, you read yours out to your mum & I'm sure she'll be delighted with your efforts - it's not just anyone you write a poem about, is it?

Our favourite was by Molf, at only 8 lines long it was one of the shorter entries, but it proves it's not the size that counts by managing in a small number of words to be funny, heartfelt and make comparisons about her mother to Habbo, so that we can all understand exactly what she means.

But an honourable mention must go to Matt - the last few lines of his Poem were so good, I've pinched them to use in my own card! Thanks Matt!

My mum is as sweet as peppermint ice cream,
As bubbly as a tubmaster.

My mum can be snappy like a croc,
but she’s there when I fall into disaster.

My mum can rock the Chromz dance floor,
She’s worth more than a gold bar.

We could all say that our mum’s the best
That she’s much better than all the rest,
But without my mum, I don’t know where I’d be
For with her love she helps me see,
That there’s always a way
To make every little thing be okay,
With her big happy smile
