    Default Planning to join army.

Well I need to run 1 and a half miles in the time of 12 mintues. I can only do about a mile in 14-15 mintues, whats the best way to improve this?

All I can think of is running every so often and gym.

Any other suggestions will work please share them with me please.

a mate of mine has this rota, although hers is different as shes a girl. but hers is like similar running miles 12 minutes then steady jog etc and brisk walks. Load of rubbish, but as said. Just time yourself running around your block or something. and try to beat your time every time!

Thats just stupid though, because if he runs faster,
he will get out of breath quicker and once he is out
of breath he will slow down, then it will take him longer.

Also, just do jogs around the block etc and time yourself.
    You will gradually improve.

Is this with the standard army gear on or without?

If it's without you really do need to work on your cardiovascular system. Try going for long jogs but at a steady pace and gradually increase your effort. If you don't enjoy running try going out for a brisk cycle. Make sure whatever excersise you chose to do though that you're working as hard as possible for aslong as possible

If you're really serious about improving you could try buying a heart rate monitor to find out your maximum beats per minute is.

You do this by taking your age away from 220. This gives your maximum heart rate and you should aim to work at this rate for aslong as possible during excersise.

If you hav a buddy in the army, you should let him train you, its going to be quick but painful, though it is true that the army has difficult procedures that you must follow, only one of my best friend's brother was lucky enough to get into the army, he has 4 of them, he is serving in Iraq, and so is my brother, but he is a bit laidback so I get worried if he is okay sometimes. Its a mystery on how he ever joined the army.

Do circuit training each day and see if you improve?
