Help! I've been hacked!”. That is one sentence you may see everyday from some Habbos

Ive been scammed before and it feels terrible, I know. But if you've been scammed, do think back. Did you give out your personal information? Like your password? Your birthday? If you did, there is nothing the Habbo staff can do. But if you did not, the only answer why your furni is gone is key loggers.

“Huh, what is a key logger?” you might ask. A key logger is a small programme that you may accidentally download. It will record everything you do on your computer, whatever it may be - be it Internet banking or even checking-in to your Habbo account. The person behind the programme will then know your e-mail address, password, and much, much more! You think that's it? This is only the basic things that key loggers can do! They can even send viruses to your computer so as to crash your computer, and then you cannot play Habbo anymore! The next thing you know, all your Furni is gone!

The question you might ask is "How do I get key logged?" The only way you get key logged is when you download and activate it. Most key loggers are hidden in free programmes. An example of how you could get key logged is if you download a programme from a scam website offering free Credits or free Furni.

The easiest way to prevent getting key logged is to NEVER download and open the free programmes offered by the scam site. You are not sure whether a key logger is being hidden in the free programme. Another way is to protect your computer with a good anti-virus programme.

So my friends, please put safety first and always ensure that only YOU know your password. If you come across a scammer asking you whether you want free credits or free furni by going to a scam site, immediately report the Habbo to a moderator by calling for help. You can do so by clicking the blue question mark at the bottom right hand corner of the page. Remember, MODs cannot give you free Credits or Furni. Also make sure that the MOD has a staff badge in front of their Habbo name.
