My mum got a boyfriend about a year ago.

HES A WASTEMAN, hes selfish and hes a ****

i dont like him anymore but mum isnt listening. its not like he mistreats me or anything but he spends my mums money on alcahol and hes lazy
What should i do about that? because ive already said "Mum, listen. i dont like him."

but she said ill get used to him

Evrything i do recently seems to be wrong because im always being shouted at.

my mum is always saying stuff like " you will be nothing just like youre father "

and my nan is always shouting at me 24/7 and i really dont do anything

if i do one thing wrong mum rolls her eyes at me or tuts at me

and recently mums been calling me names like c*** and ive concidered suicide on more then 4 occasions

But tbh im not going to take my life because of 2 people

What should i do?

i think your mum just needs to realise that he isnt worth it..maybe shes just lonely so thats why shes with him?

buy her something nice, tell her you love her? talk to her more about it.


i hope things go alright, it took my dad years to finally see what my mum was like..

well and truely screwed me up tho :|

Okay, well at the end of the day your mother is entitled to having any relationship she wants - and although your her son, you really don't have much say in it. I understand you perhaps don't like the guy shes wirth, but it's not your decision to make. If you've tried to tell your mum you arn't to keen on him and she hasn't listened - let her learn the hard way and make her own mistake then... as if he really is as bad as you say, then eventually she'l come to realise you were right all along.

As there clearly is tension between you and her boyfriend - it probably explains why she's maybe a bit off with you, as to her it's probably as though your constantly questioning her decisions and judgement. I think you should maybe talk to her, and tell her although you don't particularly like him if he makes your mum happy that's all that matters, and tell her your going to make more of an effort with him.

Hopefully she'll start treating you a bit better. If not, and if she continues to constantly degrade you and refer to you with such insults, just tell her your not perfect and nor is she. Explain to her she has no right to call you such names just because you don't agree with a decision shes made. Tell her your willing to support her choice to be with this man, but she simply has no place to call you such things.

In the case of your nan, she probably just sees your mums maybe upset or something from your negative comments about her boyfriend. Your nan has no parental role on you. If she has comments to make about nothing, stand up for yourself. Tell her your not going to let her just put you down any longer for no reason - and if she has a point to say let her say it, but debate her about it. Don't get into an argument that won't get anywhere though - remain calm and discuss the issue at hand.

I'm glad you realise suicide isn't the answer - and I really can't emphasise how pointless it is. Although it'll let you escape from your problems, it's simply running away - and ultimately letting them win.
