Training spots for mage

I've got members and currently at lvl 39 mage.

Been training at guards in edgeville, but they die too quickly. Any suggestions on where else I can train at?

By the way, I dont really care about drops too much.


Also, how many levels higher than required level stops most failings to cast? (I know it doesnt stop all, but at least over 50&#37

No idea about the second part but i train my pure mage at skeletons under varrock, in the sewers.

yes use skeltons in varrock sewers, as there is a gap between them and yuu, so they cannot hit. And they onli use mellee.

Use curse from the dead on skeltons under varrock sewers they're about 5.5k experience per 100 spells, I got to 60 in no time using it.
