    Default Mouth Ulcer

I have a mouth ulcer on my bottom lip near my gums. I only noticed it this morning but I'm worried already. My gums around the ulcer are all red and look kinda swollen. The gum holding one on my teeth in place has like, shrunk. It isnt as thick as my other gums holding my teeth in place. I've looked on a few websites and I'm worried that it might be gum disease. Although my gums arnt bleeding.

It said on one of the websites that an ulcer can cause swelling of the gum, so that could be why it is red and seems to have shrunk. But while looking on a website about gum disease it said that in early stages of gum disease it could cause the gum to pull away from the teeth.

I don't know whether it is just a mouth ulcer or gum disease. I haven't tried Bonjela yet as we haven't got any. I'm going to my mum's today and shes just like a nurse and knows a lot about diseases and irritation, etc. So I'll ask her before doing anything else. It also said on one of the websites that a mouth ulcer can be provoked by hormonal changes, so that could be why my ulcer has caused all of this.

I don't know what it is though, I do have an ulcer but I dunno if it's done all of this just because of that. I really hope it isnt gum disease. What do you think I should do?

I tried some bonjela but it hasn't really made any difference, but I doubt it'll work straight away anyway. I'll be off to my mum's in a minute and won't be back 'til sunday. I would really appreciate any help though, thanks. Hopefully I'll have some replies to read when I get back.

This has been one of the worst days of my life, damn friday 13th. ;P

Ive had one of theese before they're horrible, mine went yellow. What I did was bonjela it for a few days, and squeeze it really hard with a tissue it hurts like hell but gets rid of it

I get that, the gum went really sore and 'popped out' of place if you like. Try not to touch it with your tongue and hopefully it will get better ;]

If you are that worried about it & bonjela doesn't work for you i'd go and see your doctor or even dentist as it might be something they would be able to deal with more specifically.
