Wrong, with Photoshop you can use a tool called 'Color Replacement', makes it 10 times as fast
I used to use it. All manually now.
I sometimes use it to find different shades as well. Very helpful.
I don't use anything other than Photoshop, I have worked with Photoshop for over 3 years

Paint, as alts take time. You can't just download a program and expect it to make you better at the alts, its all about practicing and taking your time and consitrating [sp?], etc.

I used to do alot of pixel work and the only programmes i used where Photoshop and Ms paint. If you want to make moving alts then i guess Flash would be good for that. :]
Pixel work takes alot of patience and thats why i stoped, If you dont like using paint then i wouldent carry on making alts.

just use paint imo other ways are just 'cheating' paints easy to use and its the best way to make them imo ive never used anything else other then paint.

Paint is truly the best 'real' pixel art program, aside from that recolours are best done in photoshop/corel paint shop pro.
