Basically the story is going to be that helkats grandfather could time travel using the romantique clock.

This is evident because;
-helkats grandad warns her of the "grandad effect", this is when you go back intime and harm your own grandfather, wiping you out of existence
-the clock is not in the romantique range which is odd because it is such a generic piece of furni
-helkats grandad writes "1759 - a good year" and his house was built that year, he probably went back in time and built it
-a note says to see her grandmother who died 10 years previously, only able with timetravel
-the "grandfather effect" also ties in with the fact that the clock is a "grandfather clock"

The story may involve pixies which enable time travel, i think this is becuase the pixies are on the romantique pages (those this is more of a guess);

yeah, i was pondering this yesterday, he probably went in the time machine stole all the french furni from french people in the 18th century, smuggled it back here and now the people he stole from are out for revenge

thats a bit far-fetched
