    Ok im getting an xbox 360 on thursday, and its 20mb or whatever, and i want to go on live but how do i do it, my dad has virgin media broadband and atleast a 20m ethernet cable, so what do i do run the cable upstairs and plug into back of xbox 360 and bang?

    What is it plugging into?

    A Modem or router?

    not in back of comp, at the back of the little box that comes with broadband,

    yeah the modem.

    Lol, i got Virgin Media, you was in the same mess has me, but its actually easy than it looks, cant be arsed to explain (www.xbox.com/support) Plug the enthernet cable back of your xbox 360 to your pc

    Get a £20 router and plug it in the modem, you can still have a wire to the PC and another to the 360, also it'll make the IP recoverery easier.

    ok ill just use the wires for now, and later on ill buy a router. :]
