    Default Accutane?

Has anyone ever taken it before?

if so... how serious can the side effects be?
(I've heard that it can really dry your lips and mouth out)

    and how effective is it?

also... I heard that you have to have your blood taken every month, is this so?

+rep to anyone who helps me out..

Isotretinoin is the proper name for it, my friend Martin took it for a while and he kept getting nose bleeds and dry skin. As for effectiveness it'll be about as effective as all retinoids but it could take a while depending on how severe your case of acne* is. I don't think you have to have blood tests for it but I'm not totally sure.

*You are taking it for acne and not skin cancer right cos that's really important.

my acne isn't THAT bad, it's the fact that it scars when it *heals* is a bigger problem.

If it's the scars you're worried about then look for more natural remedies. I'm guessing accutane stops your body producing a lot of sebum oil so your skin gets really dry. It's extremely effective against acne but won't help with your scarring.
