    Default [Ps CS3] How do i ... +Rep for best awnser..

    make it so i can use a brush in 1 area of the canvis.. say a box. and not the other part..

    Use a marquee (selector tool) to cordon off your area,
    Brush in that area, to which, it will stay in that area,
    not outside your box.

    or you could mask the layer (if you're talking about the banner). Layer > Layer mask. Then delete/add to the mask to hide/reveal your work.
