I thought you already released this.
ermmm design ideas, ill have to think
Im thinky more Christmas-y, as its a Christmas edition, and im trying to keep it light.
No offence to you or carbon...
But I would NOT use that.
It's alright but if I may suggest one thing to you guys, start using NEW designs.
A complete new idea, becouse as far as I've seen, all the panels being made here are allways the same (qua design), one is better then the other but it's always the same setup:
- full nav / user/panel options in a box on the left
- big main content box on the right
- a 100% width bar at the top of the page containing the title
That's what I keep seeing in these panels.
Try something new, unique, ... be a (sorry for the word :p) dare-devil and do something special.
Things you could do:
navigation:
- Dropdowns : have a few links in a horizontal navbar such as home-posting-editting-usercp-other & make these links have dropdowns
- have 2 horizontal navigation bars underneith eachother, have (as above) a few links in the first one, if you hover over posting, make the sub-links appear on the 2nd navbar with things like add news, add rare value, add ... (whatever you use
)
- Main links in a horizontal navbar, sublinks in a vertical (small) box or something
Header:
- Use some more objects in the header, on the panels its allways the name of the panel & thats it, its nice, its clean but its been used so many times, have some differences in the header
- Don't always use 100% width bars at the top of your screen, they can be nice but yet again, used so many times before
- You could have some user info in the header.. like Welcome user, 0 new messages etc
- Maybe have 3/4 small links/linked icons in the header, i.e for home-contact-admin-message inbox
Footer:
- Have a nice footer, with again a link or two/three such as home/contact/inbox
- Have a back-to-top link in there (if you're not using iframes (which I do not advise
)
Anyway, stuff like that, make a change & be creative
Oli what has gotten into you!No offence to you or carbon...
