Okay schools are now getting extra power to ban mobiles from schools. Also they have the power to make you hand your phone in before the school day starts and then get it back at the end of the day.

They already have the power to enforce any rules that they think are reasonable and would benefit their students (even if adolescant teenagers don't get why).
I think use of mobiles during class should be penalised, but I see no reason for them not to be used during breaks. I can't imagine not having my phone on me at any point, there are so many reasons I need to use it.
I don't think pupils should have to leave phones at home - there are circumstances when they'd need to make an emergency call, or to be contactable.I'm defying gravity.♪
